Then, as dinner is announced, the stately French doors of the Decatur Carriage House open, and you are seated under the magnificent vaulted ceilings at tables filled with candlelight before indulging in the first course of a finely catered meal.

Recognized as one of the top event and wedding venues by the Washingtonian since 1999, Decatur House offers the ideal balance of historical significance and classic Washington style. Whether entertaining in the courtyard surrounded by lavish green gardens, the Carriage House with stunning vaulted ceilings, or the elegant historic parlors, Decatur House provides an unrivaled setting for your special event.

Facilities

Decatur House offers the Carriage House, Courtyard and Entertaining Parlors for private events that can accommodate small, intimate gatherings or large functions with equal ease and comfort. Our versatile space is sure to fit your needs and includes tours of the historic house and several Decatur House Special Event Coordinators on site to ensure everything runs perfectly. CARRIAGE HOUSE:



For more than 20 years, the Carriage House and Courtyard space at Decatur House has provided a beautiful backdrop to countless Weddings, and continues to be recognized as a top-event venue in the DC area. This past November, we started a renovation project to further improve the event spaces at Decatur House.

The Carriage House renovations, completed April 30, 2012, maintained the space’s versatility and gracious feel by providing a small increase in capacity and updating the finishes, carpet, lighting and audiovisual systems. The addition of a covered portico has improved the transition between the Carriage House and Courtyard spaces.

COURTYARD:



Surrounded by seasonal plantings & greenery, the bricked Courtyard is a spacious and unexpected gem within a bustling White House neighborhood. Perfect for receptions and dinners the space can be enjoyed tented or alfresco!
