Since 2006, Drew Porterfield has served as the curator and director of Long View Gallery. He has grown the gallery's representation to include approximately forty of the nation's leading contemporary artists, and he has led the gallery's evolution into Washington, DC's largest fine art gallery. He has also become a leading consultant on corporate art placement, having sold and installed art to major national retailers, law firms, hospitals, consulting firms, and developers.
Drew's art education began in the mountains of North Carolina studying traditional photographic techniques.
Long View Gallery opened in 2006 as a small, Washington, D.C. gallery focused mainly on local artists. Nearly ten successful years of business have seen us grow in many respects: our team has grown from one to six, our roster of artists has grown from just local to international and our space has grown from 1000 to nearly 9000 square feet, the largest contemporary art gallery in the city. Long View Gallery operates as the prmiere fine art and event space in Washington, D.C.
Long View Gallery concurrently highlights the talent of unique artists and operates as a premiere venue for private functions. We represent both mid-career and emerging artists whose diverse portfolios run the gamut from abstract expressionism to photo-realism. Additionally, relationships with other galleries and artists outside of our representation list provide endless options for procurement. With clients such as the Boston Consulting Group, Leaf Clean Energy, ACTEC, BMW, Vanity Fair, JCrew, Acura, Sony Music, Madewell, Bloomingdales, Allen and Overy and Doroty Lichtenstein, we have positioned ourselves at the top of the galleryand events world in Washington, D.C. and beyond.
