Hollin Hall Weddings & Events At Mount Vernon Unitarian Church
Hollin Hall is an 18th-century plantation home on Little Hunting Creek three miles southwest of Alexandria in Fairfax County, Virginia.

We can be reached by taking the George Washington Parkway south through Old Town Alexandria towards Mount Vernon. Turn right off of the Parkway on Belle View Road, turn left at first light on Ft. Hunt Road, and right onto Mason Hill Drive. At stop sign, turn right on Windmill Lane and proceed to 1909 on the left. Proceed to the top of the long driveway to our parking area.
Mount Vernon Unitarian Church is situated on seven beautifully landscaped acres just four miles south of Old Town Alexandria. We offer two lovely indoor reception sites, historic Hollin Hall and the Meeting House, and a picturesque walled boxwood garden to accommodate a variety of special occasions from small parties to wedding and commitment ceremonies to larger receptions.
Hollin Hall is a gracious Colonial Revival mansion that offers a charming and unique setting for weddings, receptions, parties and rehearsal dinners. Hollin Hall can accommodate 150 people for a stand-up reception and 80-90 people seated. It features four separate rooms, a formal entry hall, and modern kitchen.
The Meeting House is a spacious, contemporary site for larger weddings and receptions. With clean, simple lines, warm hardwood floors and soaring ceiling, it is an elegant space for wedding ceremonies and a lovely wedding reception location for dining, music and dancing. The Meeting House can accommodate 225 guests standing or 150-175 people for a seated reception. A beautiful slate terrace adjoining the Meeting House and facing the walled boxwood garden provides an outdoor reception and elegant cocktail space.
The Gardens: Your event can spread out onto the enchanting wisteria-arbored terrace and a boxwood maze. A patio, a romantic arbor, or a lawn are some of our outdoor spaces for events. Set up tents for dining or ceremonies in the front yard, back gardens or patio.
Caterers
Renters may select an excellent caterer from our preferred caterer list all of whom aim to suit your tastes and requirements—from a casual garden party to an elegant seated dinner. Additionally, an event monitor will be on hand to help your event run smoothly. Alcohol may be served in moderation and in compliance with the ABC laws of Virginia.
*When selecting a caterer on the list below, there is a $500 refundable (as long as there are no damages or overtime)security deposit charged. If you select a caterer not on our list, an additional $500 fee is due and is non-refundable.

The site of our grounds, the highest point in southern Fairfax County, was once part of a 2,000-acre plantation owned by Revolutionary War patriot George Mason.
Mr. & Mrs. Harley Wilson completed their elegant new Hollin Hall, a Colonial Revival mansion that was the centerpiece of their 600-acre estate near the Potomac River in 1919.
The Wilsons were not the first to fall under the spell of this spot. George Washington hunted here as the guest of George Mason, author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights who had owned the land since about 1750.
Rates
Our facilities are generally available throughout the year, seven days a week. Rental hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sundays. Out of respect for our neighbors, caterers and other event service providers must vacate the property no later than 11:00 p.m. Picturesque photo opportunities abound throughout the property.Wedding Rates

Ceremony Only: $750 – 3 hours*; $250 each additional hour or portion thereof.
Garden Chair Rental: $275, up to 150 chairs, including set up and take down.
Rehearsal: $200 – 1 hour, $100 each additional hour or portion thereof.
Ceremony and Reception: $3,400 – 7 hours,* $400 each additional hour or portion thereof.
Reception Only: $2,750 – 6 hours*, $300 for each additional hour or portion thereof.
One location: Hollin Hall or Meeting House; includes slate terrace or wisteria arbor.
December – March Rates
Ceremony Only: $700 – 3 hours; $250 each additional hour or portion thereof.
Reception Only or Ceremony and Reception: $1,800 – 6 hours*, $300 each additional hour or portion thereof.
*All time allotments must include caterer set up and break-down time.
Additional time charges or $400 per hour apply if time is exceeded.
Security Deposits (fully refundable as long as there are no damages or overtime)

- Renters may use our tables and interior chairs at no extra cost
- Both facilities are equipped with modern, warming kitchens
- There is adjacent free parking for 90 vehicles
- We are fully handicapped accessible
- We offer a spacious and sun-filled bride’s dressing room
- Wedding ceremony rentals without receptions generally must conclude by 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays
