Raspberry Plain, highly regarded as one of Northern Virginia's premier wedding venues has been hosting wedding receptions, ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, showers, anniversaries, corporate events and gatherings since 1994 in Virginia's Hunt & Wine Country. Raspberry Plain sits amongst many vineyards and wineries, also known as, 'DC's Wine Country' and is recognized for creating unique and memorable events that accommodate various styles from southern rustic, farm setting to classical elegance.
Known since 1731, Raspberry Plain sits on 50 rolling acres overlooking the Catoctin Mountains in Loudoun County, Northern Virginia. Each room has historical and architectural detail and character, which is enhanced by period furnishings and paintings. The estate boasts spectacular views including The Grand Conservatory which invites guests to enjoy an indoor setting with an outdoor view. One of the many highlights of the Grand Conservatory is the vaulted cathedral ceiling with walls of windows arching at the gables for you and your guests to be treated to sunset dinners and dancing with views of the stars. The Formal Gardens are graced by arched boxwoods and make it the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony and entertaining. The backdrop of The Mansion, lush grounds and breathtaking views of the mountains, pastures and pond make Raspberry Plain a beautiful venue for your event.
The Carriage House at Raspberry Plain is the perfect setting for intimate events and can host up to 50 guests. Appointed in the French country style, it is popular for rehearsal dinners and as the day-of bridal suite, which allows the bride and bridesmaids to get ready and relax before the wedding. Renovated in 2009, your guests will be treated to a bright and open space and gardens to enjoy more views of the mountains in Loudoun County.
We at Raspberry Plain aim to make you and all your guests feel welcomed and entertained by our southern charm and hospitality. Raspberry Plain takes pride and enjoys that many of our clients come back to visit and reminisce after their event.
The Grand Conservatory was built in 1999 with the idea of guests enjoying an indoor setting with a fantastic outdoor view. Constructed with a vaulted ceiling and walls of cathedral windows arching at the gables, you and your guests are treated to sunset dinners and dancing with views of the stars. The Grand Conservatory's unique style acts as a perfect canvas to enhance your personal event style such as a rustic country, farm country, modern eclectic, classic and landscape.
Upon entering The Grand Conservatory, you are greeted with natural light from all angles, columns and rich stone and wood accents framing each picturesque window. The Grand Conservatory has ample space for 200 guests seated comfortably and for all of your event needs including: room for music/DJ and dance floor, cake display, and option for buffet style dining.
The room is completely climate controlled and in case of inclement weather, the Grand Conservatory can be used for your ceremony without losing the charm of Raspberry Plain.
A huge advantage of The Grand Conservatory is there is NO need to rent a tent, electricity, portable bathrooms, and other added expenses. This space allows you to have a worry-free and budget friendly event with ambiance to be remembered.
The Mansion House at Raspberry Plain dates back to 1731 when Thomson Mason, son of George Mason III, was deeded land and then built the Georgian Colonial style mansion house on these rolling acres.
Entering into the Entry Hallway through the front door underneath the portico, you and your guests are met with sophisticated antique furnishings including century-old rugs, books, lamps, fireplaces, furniture and original hardwood oak floors throughout. We encourage your guests to mingle and sit amongst the plentiful chairs and couches to take in the rich history of the mansion.
The Drawing Room is a perfect place to peruse our collection of books and to set up seating arrangement cards, while the Dining Room with its inviting blue hues and antique oak table is an ideal spot for gifts and cards. The Victorian Parlor is appointed with burgundy accents, a fireplace and restored piano and is a great place to look "up" and see the orginial crown molding that holds the Mason family seal. The Govenor's Room was orignally for the gentlemen to smoke cigars after dinner, and is now used as the Bridal or Groom's dressing room.
The Mansion House has three restrooms to ensure your guests don't miss a thing at your event. The inside of the mansion of Raspberry Plain including the bright Fountain Room provides enough space to use for cocktail hour in case of inclement weather.
