fun! are all words that would describe this young ladies Bat Mitzvah celebration. More and more often we are designing teen events based upon bright and youthful color palettes or feelings and moods rather than a specific theme. This was the case for this early Spring Bat Mitzvah at The Newseum. Our baseball and Lego loving girl did not want anything over-the-top or too specific. We selected the lime, turquoise, teal and cobalt color scheme to add a touch of sophisticated femininity and balanced it with clean lines and modern white details and accents to mimic the lines in The Newseum. We added subtle touches of her personality by using all white Lego's in the vases on the kids tables and baseball quotes on the colorful cocktail napkins. A detail that has quickly become a favorite of our Bar and Bat Mitzvah clients. The lego theme was echoed on the adults escort card table and a clean combination of lime green Lego's, white vases and green and white Spider Mums popped on the turquoise Fortuny linen. We used the floral to inject tons of texture and to breakup the clean lines a bit. Botanicals added a breath of life to a very modern and sleek space.

Mitzvah Day
For most people there's a degree of anxiety, not only because of the importance of the event, but also the idea of being photographed. Everyone wants to look good in photos, especially in ones from their
Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and the best way to do that is relax and enjoy the moment. I like to keep the atmosphere light, laughter and movement are integral parts of the shoots. I've found it's the best way for people to have fun and still get stunning, natural photographs.
